What we're about

This group is for anyone who is interested in learning more about OpenStack and Open Infrastructure and exchange with its fast-growing community.

The open infrastructure landscape is changing. And we have to see OpenStack in the context of being a foundation that integrates with dozens of open source tools into a modern stack that reaches well beyond the scope of OpenStack.

This meetup is for conversations and sessions about cloud infrastructure with a focus on OpenStack, as well as other related open source projects, the whole ecosystem is fair game.

Please feel free to contact us if you would like to present, or have any ideas and suggestions.

Talk#1: Mingjun Shan from ComputingStack "Enterprise Cloud and DevOps: Implementation experiences, Gap analysis and Best practices" Innovation has been happening in Open Source technologies. Enterprises have used OpenStack powered cloud solutions but there both pros and cons in this approach. Although OpenStack is a widely deployed open source software for building clouds, organizing the various ingredients for an enterprise ready out-of-box solution is not straight forward.Enterprise Clouds powered by open source technologies have been quickly growing and adopting the concept of containers. Running containers in the AWS Cloud can provide rich services and can leverage security benefits. Mingjun Shan will be sharing his experiences with the AWS Cloud enterprise DevOps implementation at ComputingStack with his gap analysis and best practices discussion as well as a demonstration. Mingjun, from ComputingStack in Ottawa, has been working on Openstack cloud technologies from early phases of open source. Mingjun has led research and contributed to DMTF (Distributed Management Task Force), NFV and ISO Cloud standards for leading Telco organizations. At ComputingStack his focus has been in providing an "in-the-box" solution that eases the provisioning and operation of OpenStack Cloud.
