Capacity planning for elastic computing is part science, part theory and part luck. Using available data with solid strategies for compute hardware, flavor governance and capacity monitoring can help increase efficiency and reduce outages while also reducing CAPEX. In this presentation Ben will cover why capacity planning is different for elastic clouds vs. virtualized environments, the benefits of accurate deterministic planning, chargeback/showback and some tools that can be used to monitor and plan capacity for OpenStack clouds.
