Let’s update Metropolis at Metrotown (Beginners welcome)

Details

With over 450 shops Metropolis at Metrotown is the largest mall in British Columbia. It is a dense area with lots of businesses to map. To keep OpenStreetMap (OSM) up-to-date with recent openings and closings, we will meet for a survey mapping event.
By going through the mall, we identify new shops or find shops on the map that have been closed. Furthermore, we will enrich existing shops with useful data.

The event is intended for any level of past participation in OSM. Beginners are welcome and we will be happy to show you how to setup a contributor account.

You will learn how to update shops on the street and what information is useful in malls.

Please bring your phone or a portable computer to edit the map. The mall has Wi-Fi, so that we can download apps and map data there. However, to avoid long downloads you may install OsmAnd (and the local map data), Vespucci and/or StreetComplete before the event.

Please arrive on time. If you run late, ask for our position on meetup or try to find us in the mall.
