Affan Ahmed Syed

Director Engineering, PLUMgrid

Dr. Syed Affan Ahmed is the Director Engineering at the Islamabad office of PLUMgrid, where he has worked on introducing network functions to their core product. He is currently focusing on NFV, container networking, IOVisor, and network virtualization. He was previously an Associate Professor at FAST-NU, where he established the SysNet research lab. His area of interest spans distributed and sensor systems, IoT, Smart Grids, Cloud, SDN and NFV. He has authored several papers at top-flight conferences, many as first indigenous paper from Pakistan, in each of the above domain of networking.

Amena Shakil

Senior Expert VNF/SDN Planning, Telenor Pakistan

Amena Shakil is working in Telenor as Senior Expert VNF / SDN planning, responsible for VNF designs and Software Telco Solutions. She has been working on the architectural design and network implementation for Software Defined networks and established a network POC for the first time in Pakistan. She is a seasoned professional & has worked in diversified Technology domains like IN, VAS & Core Networks both in Operations & Planning roles during the span of her career in Telco Giants like Mobilink and Telenor.

Open Source Evangelist, Tech geek, Social Entrepreneur, renowned Linux trainer in Pakistan & Asia, having 18+ years of experience in Information Technology sector. Currently he is working as Chief Technology Officer at OpenWare Business Pvt. Ltd, a company mainly providing IT solutions based on robust, reliable, scaleable, secure and cost effective Open Source Technologies.

Nabeel Afzal

Nabeel is a senior member of PLUMgrid Customer Support team. Over the past years Nabeel has deployed and managed multiple OpenStack networks. He has direct experience of working with large customers in the OpenStack space and brings in a wealth of experience connecting OpenStack to real world use cases.
