• What we'll do:
You're invited to our first Operation Code Meetup of 2019! The meetup is located at and hosted by Avvo in Seattle! Our speakers will be sharing their experiences and career and technical insights that will help give our guests the edge in building their careers.

• About Avvo:
Avvo.com is the leader in the online marketplace for legal services, that provides customers with detailed attorney referrals and access to a large database of detailed legal information and previously answered legal questions.

• Our Presenters:
-Nick Marden, CTO at Avvo, a Ph.D. candidate from MIT, has held a wide breadth of roles from software developer, software consultant, principal software engineer, to many other leadership and entrepreneur roles. -Hunter Davis, Director of Engineering at Avvo and Apprenti Board Member, is a computer scientist who has extensive experiences in the tech industry, such as: his start as a notorious hacker, to software engineer at Napster and Google, to becoming an outspoken industry leader and mentor. -We'll spotlight our supporting Veteran Service Organizations: FourBlock, USO, The Mission Continues and Travis Manion Foundation, who are helping veterans and serving the community in many different ways.

• What's the format of the meetup?

  • From 6pm to 6:30pm, we'll eat, drink, and build our connections through informal networking with mentors, developers, entrepreneurs and business leaders.
  • 6:30pm to 8pm, we'll hear from our esteemed speakers and guests.
  • 8pm to 9pm, an opportunity for guests to build new connections with other guests, mentors, and presenters.

• Who's this for?

  • Our meetups are geared towards: software/systems engineers, entrepreneurs, new developers, technical mentors with experience in the tech industry, career mentors with experience in leadership, and those who are interested in expanding their perspectives.
  • We are an inclusive community and we invite all veterans and non-veterans to come to share, listen, and learn.
  • Those interested in developing careers in tech
  • Experienced developers and / or leaders in software industry to share experiences and mentor others.
