Hey Stackers,

We are ready to get back on track for 2017, and what better way to do it than with a discussion on the fundamentals of using Ansible for automation.

Just in case you are unfamiliar with Ansible. Ansible is a agentless configuration management tool, written in Python that is powerful and easy to learn. You don't have to know any domain specific languages to use it, and it can be used to configure almost anything. Well, not really anything, but it is great for configuring Clouds, Containers, Linux and even Windows.

Luke Short, of HostDime, is going to provide you with a basic overview of Ansible. After walking you through the fundamentals, Luke will take you on a wild ride through some sample Ansible Playbooks that he relies on to help him configure the HostDime OpenStack Cloud.

Does learning Ansible sound just a little bit technically intimidating? Well Luke can tell you that it's not. He was able to learn Ansible in a few days and within a week he was able to start using automate tasks in the Data center.

Ansible is a great way for Python developers to learn how to control and provision their environments and it is a powerful tool, for the tool belt of any System Administrator or DevOps Engineer.
