Greetings OHUG Members.

We did not meet in February as I was unable to procure speakers for the February session. I talked with the folks at SideFX and the education department has agreed to provide two exclusive class sessions for OHUG:

Houdini Concepts for Maya Artists (3/26/21):
One of the hardest things to do is to transfer skills from one software to another especially if the interface and workflows are new to you. John makes this easier for Maya artists coming to Houdini as he explains how Houdini works from a Maya point of view.

The Evolution of Proceduralism (4/30/21):
The Film and Games Industries are constantly trying to make beautiful things faster, which means that brute force creation is being traded for procedural techniques. Although Houdini was used predominantly in FX for 30 years, its non-destructive and procedural nature has led studios to employ its workflows across their pipelines, We'll follow how studios are using proceduralism for modelling, environment, character FX and more
