"Death by Despair" Part 2

Plato's Cave and UU Inquiring Minds have invited StoicDan to present "Death by Despair", Part 2, this Sunday morning.

What is causing the high death rate among white males, ages 45-54? Last week, we discussed socio-economic conditions like the loss of manufacturing and mining jobs in the USA, lack of education, plus alcohol and opioid addiction. This Sunday, we explore the psychology behind today's unhealthy state of masculinity. Men are expected to be tough and not ask for help, but this causes stress. Long-term unemployment can lead to lack of purpose and social isolation. Also, how should men deal with cases of past sexual abuse, imprisonment, divorce, family dysfunction and mental illness? Join us as StoicDan presents solutions in Stoicism, Psychology, and UUA Resources.

Please arrive at 9AM, because seats fill up fast. The meeting begins at 9:15AM sharp. StoicDan will speak for 10-15 minutes, which is followed by a discussion, and then we wrap-up at 10:15AM. Attendees are welcome to stay for the UUUF service at 10:30AM (also free, different topic).
