ONLINE: Presentation at Stoic Salon: PANAETIUS THE CONNECTOR

Details

Who were the lesser-known ancient Stoics? And what did they contribute to philosophy? Most of the time, we speak about Seneca, Epictetus, and Marcus Aurelius, but in this presentation, StoicDan will talk about PANAETIUS THE CONNECTOR.

This is one of a series of presentations for the Stoic Salon (a group based in the UK). These presentations are based on the recently-published book "The Lives of the Stoics" by Ryan Holiday and Stephen Hanselman.

Note: click the Zoom link at the appointed time. The meeting does not start 15 minutes early, like other meetings of the Orlando Stoics.

The meeting will have plenty of time for discussion. The meeting duration is 1 hour, but it sometimes goes further.

Reading material

Reading in advance is optional. The book is available in print and in kindle formats.

Rules

Like Orlando Stoics, this group enjoys open-minded, respectful conversations on Stoicism and related topics. Sometimes "we agree to disagree", but the long-term goal is to improve our minds via group discussions.

In general, Stoicism teaches us how to handle difficult people and events, how to avoid anger and worry, and overall to use moderation in all aspects of our lives.

This meeting is free and open to the public.
