🗡️The Road of theSamurai Hike(+ With Many Historic Sites)🗡️
Details
Yagyu Village in present day Nara Prefecture was home to the Yagyu Sword Smiths and Swordsmanship School.
The Yagyu’s prestige led them to become one of the Tokugawa Shogunate’s go-to providers for swords and training. Many a samurai and samurai in training traversed the Yagyu-Kaido, the road connecting Nara City and Yagyu Village, to acquire their swords and training.
Follow in their footsteps as we hike a small portion of the Yagyu-Kaido that remains intact to this day. We will pass a few historic sites, and pass through a part of the Kasuga Primeval forest along the way.
