How to build a PWA and stay sane: Introduction to Workbox

Building a Progressive Web Application is not an easy task. Getting familiar with Service Workers lifecycle, promises, Web APIs, caching strategies and other puzzle pieces of PWA development is both challenging and time consuming. In this talk you will learn about Workbox - a suite of plugins and Javascript libraries that will make life of a PWA developer easy like Sunday morning.

A PWA dive beyond create-react-app

Using Progressive Web Apps are easy with tools like create-react-app, but there's still things you should be aware of. I'll walk through the multiple required setups such as adding push notifications, editing manifest.json to make your application downloadable and to edit registerServiceWorker.js to cache in differnet ways. There's also some times you don't want the out-of-box cache and I'll talk about project experiences from such cases.

About the speaker:
Jørgen is an IT consultant at Capgemini, working in the frontend department. He mainly work in frontend frameworks and have been in charge of a handful of frontend applications, which all to some sort have implemented the use of PWA.

Furthermore, he's worked with cloud services such as AWS, Firebase and Heroku, and has experience in backend frameworks such as Java Spring and .NET.
