This month, we are embarking on a journey in the land of Elm (http://elm-lang.org/) – a functional language that compiles to JavaScript, meant for web development. Elm is very popular among the compile-to-JS languages because of its type system, program architecture (that inspired Redux), and outstanding developer experience.

For the Meetup, three developers will take us through their journey choosing, learning and using Elm on a real-world project. Here is the full agenda:

  • 17:30 – doors open, food and beverages will be available
  • 18:00 – opening words
  • 18:05 – “Why I chose Elm, and why it works” by Juhamatti Niemelä
  • 18:40 – “Learning and understanding Elm” by Aleksi Holappa
  • 19:15 – “Intro to JavaScript interoperability in Elm” by Matti Kerttula
  • 20:00 – wrap-up

The meetup will be held at the Codemate offices, next door to Boogie Software where we gathered in march. Come join us, and bring a friend!
