Rangers do pop in on occasion to check if group is okay. As the weather is unpredictable on top of the mountain, you should be equipped with rain gear and warm clothing. Where will I sleep? On top of the mountain next to Woodhead Dam in a beautifully renovated mountain cabin. The cabin has dormitory style accommodation and has capacity for 18 hikers. There are showers, a fire place and braai facilities. The kitchen is equipped with a 4-plate gas stove and basic cooking utensils. What will I experience? Table Mountain is our very own World Heritage Site and home to the famous Cape Floristic Kingdom. Table Mountain — called "Hoerikwaggo" by the Khoi-San, is surrounded by a city and needs protection, love and care from the people living in the city if it is to survive the demands placed on it. If the weather is nice on Saturday we will walk to the "diving board" (Kasteelspoort) for a beautiful sunset over Campsbay. Bring a flashlight/headlamp for the return to the hut. COST: R200 (includes overnight accommodation on Table Mountain, and permit through Orange Kloof).
