This meetup is for introverts who want to do group hiking, camping, canoe, and other types of outdoor trips. The idea is to be a meeting place for people who want the safety and cost savings of group trips with less of the socializing that can get in the way of semi-solitude and introspection. Possible activities include silent hiking, camping focused on independence and introspection, canoe trips to experience the quiet of nature. This meetup is not about the complete absence of socializing, it's about putting experiencing nature first and socializing second.
Discussion board: Use the discussion board to start conversations about outdoor experiences, planning meetups, tips and tricks, etc. If you have a specific question about the meetup, don't post it to the discussion. Send me a direct message. If the question is one others might be asking, I will email the answer to members, too.
Join for a quiet hike, hiking without the expectation to talk.
Pace and distance vary as the routes change each time. Typically around 3-4 miles over 2 hours. Elm Creek is a mix of forest, prairie, and riverside environments. Mostly dirt trails, light rolling hills. Winter time trails could be snow or ice covered.
We meet in front of the Eastman Nature Center at 10AM. There is a parking lot at the nature center. You do not need to pay for parking, and there is no entrance fee. This is not a state park, and you do not need the state park pass.
