East Midlands SQL User Group March 2018 meetup.

Details
It's a new year, so we're going to try out a new venue! We'll be meeting at the Curious Manor (http://www.curiousmanor.co.uk/) on Trinity square. This will give us a little bit more freedom, and also means if you want a meal or drinks with your SQL talks you can order what ever you want.
This month we'll be welcoming Rich Benner (https://richbenner.com/) along. He'll be talking about what a DBA needs to have in their toolkit to cope with today's SQL server problems and issues. He';ll be discussing tools and scripts you want to know about, and then more importantly how to analyse their out and act upon it. More details on the session here - https://groupby.org/conference-session-abstracts/making-your-emergency-toolkit/
The other speaker will be me (Stuart), I'll be talking about what goes on under the hood of SQL Server backups. By it's nature this is going to be a bit of a dive into the world of transaction process, write ahead logging and SQL Server internal structures and buffers. But by understanding what's going on internally you can build better backup and restore plans.
We officially have the room from 18:30, but feel free to turn up early to chat or grab a drink. I'll be around from 18:00. Sessions will be 50 minutes long, and we'll have a break between them. Will be aiming to finish at 21:00, but I'm sure some people will be hanging around for a post meetup discussion.
If you have an questions or comments, then please feel free to get in touch.
Look forward to seeing all of you there.
