It's that time for another evening of SQL Server topics. This month we have 2 sessions. First off is our own Barney Lawrence presenting "Temporal Tables in the Data Warehouse":
Temporal tables, introduced with SQL Server 2016 have a number of useful applications within the data warehouse.
This session provides an introduction to temporal tables, runs through a number of use cases, shows how temporal tables can simplify the code needed in comparison to traditional solutions and finally takes a brief look at performance in comparison to their alternatives.
And then it's me presenting a my session on 'ChatOps for the DBA', this looks at the emergence of ChatOps, what it is, where it came from, and does it offer anything to DBAs (spoiler: yes, it does)
As normal I'll be around at the venue from 6 if anyone gets there earlier. We'll kick off at 18:30 with our first session, break for people to refresh drinks/snacks about 19:30. 2nd session on at 20:00. Finishing for 21:00, but people usually hang around afterwards. If you can't make the entire evening, feel free to turn up for as much as you want.
Any questions please get in touch.
Hope to see you on the 13th
