Bicycle & Brunch - meet at Art Museum Steps at 10am
Join us for a Bicycle & Beer rally for Charity. We will meet at the steps in front of the Philadelphia Art Museum at 10am. We will bicycle along the West River Drive which bans all car traffic in the morning until 12noon, perfect for a group bicycle ride! We will then bicycle together to Ela Restaurant, our Brunch spot, at 627 S 3rd Street (corner of 3rd & Bainbridge). If you are joining us on an Idego bike share, there is an Indego station close by at 4th & Bainbridge. Ela Restaurant In November of 2011, chef Jason Cichonski opened Ela, an inventive new American bar and restaurant in Philadelphia’s Queen Village neighborhood. Ela showcases Cichonski, who Philadelphia Inquirer’s Craig LaBan called “one of our most exciting young chefs,” is combining an approachable menu of innovative dishes with an extensive wine and craft beer program and inspired cocktail list in a rustic-modern setting. “Creatively, it’s wonderfully freeing to prepare food that doesn’t fit into any one genre or style; this is seasonal food, using exceptional ingredients, prepared perfectly,” says Chef Cichonski. Ela is a serious-yet-comfortable restaurant with a menu that that changes frequently throughout the year, to reflect the latest offerings. Although the menu may change with the seasons, here is a link to Ela's brunch menu: http://elaphilly.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/BRUNCHWEBMARCH.pdf The charity is the American Heart Association and we are looking for $5 donations from each rider for participating. Bicycling Route From the Art Museum steps we will bicycle to Martin Luther King Jr Drive (commonly referred to as West River Drive). There is a 4.5 mile stretch of road from the Art Museum to Falls Bridge where car traffic is blocked until 12noon, making it the perfect spot for a group bicycle rally! We welcome bicyclers of all experience levels, go at your own pace and enjoy a morning of peddling with friends through Fairmount Park. We expect to finish bicycling around noon. Please be sure to bring lots of water/fluids to stay hydrated... and don't forget the sunscreen. Feel free to share this event with friends, the more the merrier! thanks & see you there, David and Andrew[masked]

What we're about

I have been looking for my tribe. By that I mean a liberal group of people who like to go do things. Things like, Dining out, movies, concerts, book signings, cabarets, fringe events, farmers markets, the punk rock flea market (or any other flea market). The goal is simply to make friends who want to go out and do things. The area I will schedule things in is Philadelphia (with an emphasis on not just staying in center city, think West Philly, South Philly, Fishtown, Northern Liberties), and all the counties immediately adjacent (and sometimes a stretch further out than that). The idea is to be with people who want to be in and around the city, but if something interesting is going out outside of that area we can go.

There is no age range but 20's t o 50's will probably cover it (I am in my early 40's The Co-Founder is in her mid 20's).

I know I am a bit all over the place with this group. But for now that is kind of the point. To find a group of people who just want to go do things, wherever they may be. No fee to join the group, and I will do my best to schedule things in different price ranges with a preference for free and low cost events when they are available.

Lastly, we have a "Sister Tribe", check out the Greater Philadelphia Alternative Relationship and Lifestyle Social Tribe! (http://www.meetup.com/Philly-Alt-Tribe/) (I guess I like long wondering names).
