Go Monthly Meetup - Talk (Go to C++ compiling!) & Hack (Go modules in Go 1.11)
Agenda 6:00 - Networking with food & non-alcoholic beverages 6:30 - Talk "Generating C++ code using Go with Gomuku (https://github.com/lpereira/gomoku)" Speaker: Leandro Pereira Leandro knows nothing about the cloud, distributed systems and is always confused when people say 'deployment' or 'in production'. But he swears he's a software engineer. During the day he works at Intel on some low level stuff and during the night he reinvents the wheel. Among other things, he wrote the Lwan web server and is now trying to fit a square peg in a round hole by fitting Go into a microcontroller. After the talk: And then we're gonna try something different! Bring a laptop and some projects or repos you want to upgrade we're going to test out some 1.11 language features together. It's possible that Go 1.11 will be released by the time the Meetup happens - if that's the case, just upgrade to the most recent version of Go - otherwise, we'll download Go 1.11 beta 3. With the next version of Go an experimental tooling feature is being added that signals the beginning of the end for $GOPATH. Let's get some experiment with it together!
