This is a group for anyone interested in learning how to prevent injuries from happening in the first place, keep a current injury from getting any worse, and potentially find the fix for that stubborn old injury. Our bodies have an incredible ability to regenerate, but why do so many of us feel like we're falling apart. As a veteran PT of 20+ years of experience, this group is led by Shawn Cooney, owner of PDX Bodyworks Physical Therapy. Not only was he that crazy kid that broke more bones in his body than he can remember, but he's also an Iron Man triathlete and an IRONMAN Certified Coach.
The activities we love should never cause us pain. If they do then we're doing something wrong. Shawn will provide his insight as well as create a forum for participants to brainstorm their own issues as well as provide hands on clinics, (some led by other experts in the field) for self treatment approaches including using kinesiotape, foam rolling, dynamic stretching, yoga, self massage, run clinics, bike fit clinics, nutrition, and whatever else our group would like to cover.
