Presenter 1:
Andrew Scott
Application Engineer, Video Product Line @ Tektronix

Topic
Non-Reference Picture Quality Assessment

Summary
An objective picture quality measurement is an extremely useful tool in the video engineer’s toolbox, to assist making encoding and network optimizations that improve the viewer’s experience. Traditional PQ measurements have required a reference video from which a comparison measurement can be made. This presentation describes a machine learning algorithm that produces a model from which a non-reference measurement can be made in real-time.

Presenter 2:
Dan Sparacio
Senior Software Engineer @ CBS Interactive

Topic
Adaptive Streaming Series 1 of 3

Summary
This will be a three part series building from basic concepts in Adaptive bitrate switching/how streaming media works today, to advance concepts and discussion around award winning ABR heuristics, industry standards and publications. We will dive into how encoding, players, and CDNs work together to make broadcast quality streaming possible.
