Join PDX and some of world's leading Video Tech groups for the 2nd Annual 24 hour global meetup! We will be presenting for 1 full hour of the 24 hour event. We will be on at 8:00pm - 9:00 pm Pacific Daylight Time. GMT - 7

Presentation #1
Broadcast in the Cloud
Evan Statton, Principal Architect at AWS

Live broadcasters must maintain the highest standards in system reliability, video quality, and deterministic latency. In this discussion, we learn about the techniques being used in the cloud to raise the bar for contribution, production, and distribution workflows. We will examine both compressed and uncompressed methods, and how broadcasters are using these available tools to achieve their goals. Specific technical topics include JPEG-XS, SMPTE 2022-7, and Cloud Digital Interface (CDI).

Presentation #2
Common Media Client Data
Will Law, Chief Architect at Akamai

Common Media Client Data is a new standard developed last year to improve player QoE and to provide visibility into the opaque world of player-CDN interaction. This talk dives in to the motivation for the spec, what problems it is solving, covers details around the wire format and explores new opportunities for QoE improvement made possible by the spec. We’ll end with a live demo in which everyone can participate.
