Intro to Deep Learning for CoreML w/ Julio Barros and Ryan Arana

Deep learning (DL) has become an important topic in the AI and machine learning world. New advances in algorithms, hardware and software have made it a critical part of self driving cars, language translation, image understanding, medical analysis, and many other fields. And now, with CoreML, we can integrate it into our apps.

First though, we need a basic idea of what deep learning is, what models are, where to get them and how to create your own. Julio will introduce us to the basics of deep learning and the common tools and libraries to help you add ML to your apps then Ryan will walk us through a demo app and talk about how CoreML uses those tools and libraries on the device.

Julio is a consultant in Portland Oregon and is fascinated by programming, machine learning and all things data (and a former organizer of a previous iteration of this fine group!).

Ryan is the Lead Mobile Developer at Dark Horse Comics and is enamored with Swift and all the things he can make it do (and an organizer of this fine group!).
