Scott Kelby's Worldwide Photowalk 2017: Portland - From The Mural To The Market

Ok, now onto the fun stuff:

If you're familiar with Scott Kelby, you're probably familiar with his annual photowalk. Cities around the world all photowalk on the same day, this year it's October 7, and there's prizes and fun and friends and (sometimes) madness and whatnots. Well, I didn't see a Portland chapter, and seeing as how this is the 10-year anniversary of this thing, figured that had to be remedied, so I applied to lead a walk here in Portland, and, hot damnit, they agreed to let me do the thing. So this is the official Meetup page for the official Scott Kelby's Worldwide Photowalk 2017: Portland - From The Mural To The Market

"10 Years and Counting!

On the first Saturday of October each year, photographers and enthusiasts around the world get out their cameras and meet up at a designated location in their town to walk around and take photographs, socialize, make new friends, win prizes and be a part of a great cause during Scott Kelby’s Worldwide Photowalk®. This year is particularly special because it marks the 10th Anniversary of the Worldwide Photowalk® so we want to make it the largest yet! No matter what continent you are on, where you are in your photography journey or what type of camera or phone you use, you can take part in this year’s event! So join us October 07, 2017 for this years walk."

So for Portland, figured we'd start with a group shot at the Keep Portland Weird mural, and slowly make our way past Voodoo Donuts and down Ankeny Street towards Ankeny Square and the Skidmore Fountain, then cruise north along 1st towards Ankeny Plaza. Depending on time, we might scoot over to NW Couch, then head east and cross over to Waterfront Park towards the Japanese American Historical Plaza, and then head south in Waterfront Park towards the Portland Saturday Market, or, if time is getting tight, we'll head directly towards the Portland Saturday Market from Ankeny Plaza, where we'll wander a bit, shoot some food and art and crafts, then sit and eat and drink and pixel peep.

It's super important, not only in order to be eligible for the prizes and things that they have in store, including Canon cameras, Printers, Drobos, B&H Gift Certificates and SOOOO much more, but it's also the best way for the Scott Kelby team to keep track of how many attendees there are signing up for their walks, which are capped at 50 walkers.
