What we're about

This is a Meetup group for anyone interested in celebrating and learning about Japanese culture through it's film history. We screen movies in our space on our digital projector; all films are in Japanese with English subtitles. This is not a movie theater, but a classroom-type setting, and we accompany each film with a short explanation of its context and follow the film up with a group discussion afterword. We have a consistently engaged, welcoming group that is happy to welcome newcomers. Film events are free. All are welcome!

We also have several other meetup groups, where you can learn about Japanese culture or just find ways to engage with new people . Want to learn how to play Mah-Jongg, or practice your skills? Would you like the opportunity to practice Japanese with speakers, or even just pick up a few key phrases? Want to meet new people and practice (English) conversation with people from the US and all over the world?
