There is metered parking in front of our space on 15th (metered only until 6pm). There is 2-hour parking around the corner on Weidler (parking restrictions are only enforced until 6pm). There is more free parking in the neighborhood behind us.

Chosen by film club members through online and in-person polls as our film for January, this 1990 film from master filmmaker Akira Kurosawa consists of 8 vignettes inspired by his actual dreams. Introspection, social commentary, and traditional Japanese folklore all play a part in this late-entry in Kurosawa's career (he began writing the screenplay when he was nearly 80 years old). A surreal, nonlinear, brightly-colored journey through the subconscious of a great auteur of cinema--what could be grander? Plus, Martin Scorsese pops up to play Vincent van Gogh!

We'll use our projector and screen for watching the film. All films are in Japanese with English subtitles. This is a free event, but we ask for donations for food and tea. Hope to see you there!
