Announcing our July meet up - this month at our new home at Reading's Walkabout.

We are also excited to announce that this month's event will be sponsored by Lynx Pro, the network that connects the most sought-after tech talent and the leading companies in an unique place: https://www.lynxpro.com/

Barney Hanlon with Command and (e)mission Control

Using event dispatchers and command buses in applications is becoming common place, but are we using them in a way that aids understanding? With the rise in popularity of Domain-Driven Design to drive meaning in applications, and our applications becoming increasingly small and "hexagonal", the concept of defining the difference between an Event and a Command is becoming more important. This talk explores using command buses and event dispatchers in combination to clearly segregate the structure, and uses an example of how to use these to create clean CQRS-based applications.

Christopher Hoult with Metrics for Fun and Profit

There is parking in an NCP carpark on Garrard Street just below Thames Tower, but this is very expensive. The venue is a five or ten minute walk from the Oracle car parks, which are much more reasonable, and the train station car park which is less so.

Food and Drink

Food and drink are available from the Walkabout, which is open prior to the event. The bar in our space will also be run throughout.
