PHP & Laravel development Eindhoven is a group for web developers who use PHP and/or are interested in the Laravel PHP Framework. Laravel is an accessible, yet powerful framework for web application development. Its expressive, elegant syntax and its clean structure make PHP development a real joy. The group welcomes beginners and experts, amateurs and pros, young and old, just everybody. Connect with fellow Laravel enthusiasts and talk about code, application development, deployment, hacking, project management and anything related to PHP and Laravel.

Our last meetup was in May. Since we skip the summer holiday season, we'll continue now, in September. Again at Cell[0], we are hosting a new meetup. This time the talk will be less technical but still super interesting! The good thing is that even non-geeks can join now for an informational and 'lessons learnt in life' lecture.
We have Jakob Buis, an engineering leader, building effective engineering teams. This talk will be interesting for developers, Scrum masters, team leaders, managers and even the coffee corner operator. Just attend... (we have pizza for you!)

The lecture
What causes some Scrum teams to be better than others? A whole bunch of factors can influence your happiness, productivity, outputs, outcomes and team morale as a Scrum team. Is it always you? No, of course not. But sometimes, it is you. 😉 Or better yet: you can do something about it!In this talk, a Software-Engineer-turned-Engineering-Manager takes you on a journey of 10 years of great and terrible teams. Don't learn from your own mistakes, learn from his! And leave with actionable steps to make work go a little smoother.

About the location
The meetup is held at Cell[0]. Cell[0] provides us an great location, food (pizza, vegan as well) and drinks. The office of Cell[0] is located inside the Klokgebouw building at Strijp-S. The entrance is in the middle of the building along Philitelaan, which is opposite the Ketelhuis.
If the door is locked, please ring the bell at number 112. Once inside, follow the signs to the second floor.For parking, paid options are available along the road at Strijp-S and in the "Om de Hoek" parking garage. Additionally, you can find some free parking spots at the NS train station Strijp-S, which is a 5-minute walk away. There is also plenty of free parking along Achtseweg Zuid or at the other side of the train tracks, all about a 10-minute walk.
Everybody is encouraged to attend about an hour prior to the lecture, so we can have a chat while enjoying our food.
