What we're about

UPDATE: Please join our new Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/PHXSingleParents

This is designed to be a meetup for Single Parents to simply meet up with other single Parents both with and without their Kids in tow. Ideally for Parents of toddlers to teenagers. However, parents of those younger, older or people without any child in the home who are open to meeting and supporting single Dads and Moms are welcome to join.

That being said, I as a single Dad would like to invite other single parents both Dads & Moms to join. I think it's a bit tough being a single parent regardless of gender.

My vision is to ideally start with a few events a month where you can bring the kids along.

In addition a few events a month where we single parents can mix and mingle without the little ones in tow.

Couple GUIDELINES that may adjust over time:

> Please share any kid-friendly events - YOU WOULD ATTEND in the discussion on kid-friendly events
> Please share any adult only events - YOU WOULD ATTEND in the discussion on adult only events discussion

***NEW NO SHOW RULE AS OF 11/16/18:

Beginning today (11/16/18) , if a member RSVP's for an event but either cancels less than 24 hours beforehand -OR - fails to show up altogether without changing your invite to "not going", the member will be notified as violating the no show policy. If a member no shows 3 times in a 3 month period, that member will be removed from the group.

EXCEPTIONS: 1) Life happens - so if you send a note within 24 hours or right after that gives a good explanation on why you cancelled (kid sick, parent sick, you were beamed up and incapacitated by Phoenix Lights - Part Deux), the no show violation may not count.

2) If a member shows up to an event but is unable to get in contact with or find the group and posts photos to the event, there is not a no show violation.

3) No show violations disappear after 3 months.

The intention of the policy is to improve the quality of events and increase attendees' confidence in the accuracy of the RSVPs. But it is also just about being courteous and respectful, if someone says they will do something, the expectation should be that they follow through. If you feel this rule is unfair - please advise or better yet - ATTEND a future event and argue your point in person! ***

>AVOID HARASSMENT: Please refrain from DM'ing (direct messaging) other members UNLESS A) You've met at an event before B) You're both RSVP'd to same event C) You're reaching out to the event organizer or leadership in general D) You're an event organizer
>If you have RSVP'd to an event and find out later you CAN NO LONGER ATTEND - It's OK Life happens especially with kids - However, please only DM the event organizer, no need to comment with your regrets on the event page
>Please feel free to give feedback directly to me (Darrell) or another related Organizer via DM if you have any questions, concerns or complaints.
>Please feel free to add any discussion on events you would like to do with other single parents at any time
>If you would like to HOST or become an event organizer, it's really easy there's just one requirement - DM me and I'll share
>If there's anything else you think that could be done to build this group and grow the community please PLEASE let me know!!!
