Drone Hike and Photography at Skyline Regional Park

Details

PHXGeo is hosting a drone event at the Skyline Regional Park in the southern White Tank mountains. The White Tanks are beautiful this time of year and are an excellent location for drone flying and photography.

Flying drones is prohibited in every national park, state park, county park, and most city parks! Drones are allowed in national forests, but not in any designated wilderness areas like the Superstitions or Four Peaks. That doesn't leave a whole lot for exciting drone photography. Thankfully, Buckeye's Skyline regional park can provide wonderful views of the mountains and the entire valley. Best of all, entrance is completely free!

Participants are strongly encouraged to bring their own drone, but will be more than welcome to try out the drone brought by the organizer.

Come join us for a short hike in the White Tanks and taking awesome pictures with our drones!

ATTENTION: if you plan to fly a drone for recreational purposes it is important that you complete a brief safety test called the TRUST test, as required by the FAA.

The test has written material to learn before a quiz and altogether takes about 20 minutes.
