Reptilian Ramble & Amphibian Amble

Details

Join Point Reyes National Seashore Association and biologist Chris Giorni of Tree Frog Treks for an afternoon in search of cold-blooded critters large and small. We will be in search of lizards, newts, salamanders, frogs, turtles and yes, even snakes! You will learn terms like herp, blue belly, crepuscular and more! Chris will discuss the differences between reptiles and amphibians, their behaviors and ecology, how to identify the most common Point Reyes species and why some consider these animals an indicator species of environmental health. Don’t miss your chance to discover this fascinating world with a Bay Area expert. Supplement your walk with a nature guide from our bookstore located at the Bear Valley Visitor Center.

Also open to youth (age 5-17) with parent attendance.
