Caution: There is a weather advisory for Thursday afternoon and night. There is an 80% chance of snow, and there may be 1-3 inches. If that happens, travel may be hazardous. Paul is deciding whether we need to cancel. Unfortunately the snow isn't forecast to start in earnest until 4pm, so the decision will need to be made without being sure.

Occurs to me that if we do cancel, we could all hop on the Slack channel, and work from home...

I'm still seeing blue sky, as of about 3pm, so we are not cancelling (yet). Here's what we recommend:

Watch for updates posted here and in Slack, in case there's a change.

Before you head out for the meetup, assess your local situation -- don't travel if it's not safe.

Leave extra time for travel. Take public transit if you're not comfortable driving in snow.

Hello, I just found this group and I am taking a python class for oceanographic data analysis this quarter. I am on my final assignment and feel completely stuck. Would this be a good resource for some help? Thank you.

    • Will W.

Hi Lisa, I think this group would definitely be a good resource. Usually around 20 people show up for PuPPy programming nights usually, and quite a few have data analysis/data science backgrounds. We also tend to be a pretty helpful bunch!
