Boardgames in Creswell #15: Dice Dice Baby

Creswell Game Day #15 (just ten minutes south of Eugene) is a free gaming event that starts at 2pm.

What will we be playing this time?
Everyone is encouraged to bring whatever games that they would like to play. For example, our host will be bringing several dice-themed games this time, including: Alien Frontiers, Zombie Dice, Dice Town, Garden Dice, King of Tokyo, and Space Cadets: Dice Duel.

Space Cadets: Dice Duel pits two spaceships against one another in quick-paced combat. The players are divided into two teams, each team playing the crew of a ship simultaneously. There are no traditional "turns". Instead the teams operate their ship by rolling various dice. Each team must work together in controlled chaos to defeat the other team's ship before the same is done to them.

For those interested, I've posted a copy of the Space Cadets: Dice Duel rule book in the files area at: http://www.meetup.com/Pair-of-Dice-Paradise/files/

WHAT WILL YOU BRING?
Feel free to post a comment listing any games you're considering bringing. It may help reduce the learning curve (ie: less time explaining, more time playing) if we have an idea of what to expect.

THE VENUE
We usually have the entire Community Center to ourselves, meaning no background noise or crowds. It's a great place for gaming!

The community center is at 99 South 1st Street in Creswell, just off the main street, behind City Hall and the fire station.

Here is a link to a picture of the Creswell Community Center building:

The room we'll be in is the one on the left in that photo.

FOOD
Snacks are okay. We just need to leave the room as clean as we found it.

PARKING
There's plenty of free parking in the center's parking lot.

I hope you can join us. Whether you're coming from Eugene, Springfield or Cottage Grove, it's just a short drive to Creswell to join us. It's well worth it!

Got to play four great games with five other great gamers. Coup was a very good filler/warm-up game; I'd definitely play it again. Space Cadets: Dice Duel was enjoyable pandemonium, but may have been a little overwhelming, especially during our first game as we were mastering the rules.

The paranoia generated by the Resistance: Avalon is always welcome.

And Bang: The Dice Game was a nice spin on the Bang series. Personally, I enjoyed the dice version of Bang more than the card version.

It could have been the perfect gaming session if not for the room at the community center that we played in. When it began to rain, water poured down through a corner of the ceiling and down the wall. I suspect that there may be a leak in the roof. Fortunately, before the water could "dampen" our spirits, we became distracted by hordes of ants that began invading the other end of the room. Hopefully these two issues will be fixed before our next get-together.

Would be nice if the rain and the ants could have picked the same side of the room and solved our problems for us. I just hope the place is still standing next time!

I'm bringing Coup, and Manila (per Chuck's request). Since it's supposed to be a dice game night... I'll bring Alea Iacta Est and Dice Town if I can find it. I'm looking forward to some Space Cadet madness!
