Our meeting cancelled for tomorrow night, Nov. 4th.

Dear friends,

Please accept my apology-due to some unforeseen logistical challenges, we have to cancel tomorrow night's get together. However, we shall meet next Thursday, Nov. 12th at a residence in Foster City at 7pm. Please rsvp me for location.

In the meantime, let's try this little experiment. In the previous email, we were talking about how to achieve mental peace...about how our negative emotions take away this opportunity.

What is the most frequent negative emotion that arises for you the most? Anger, impatience, pride, hostility, guilt, defensiveness, skepticism, frustration, sadness, annoyance, feeling more important than others, attachment to things? There are a host of emotions that do not lead to us feeling happy.

Take a day (or more) in the next week and look within and find an emotion that you do not deal with very well or that arises for you alot. Notice how often this emotion comes up. Just make note of it.

By just taking notice, you might find that the emotion loses some of its power. Or you might be surprised to find how often this emotion appears. We may not be able to control the emotion as it arises, but through this beginning process of being aware, we will later learn how to control our responses to our emotions.

Have some humor with this experiment of identifying our unhealthy emotions. We all have them! Being aware of them arising is the key to the first step of becoming free of them and experiencing more mental peace!

Have a great weekwink
