37. Paris WiMLDS scikit-learn sprint

Details

We are excited to announce the first Paris WiMLDS scikit-learn sprint!

Are you curious about contributing to scikit-learn (or another open source project), but unsure how to get started? This sprint is a day dedicated to help you work on one issue (big or small!) of the scikit-learn repository. The morning will be dedicated to an open source contribution initiation workshop with one goal: make your first Pull Request!

Our objective is to increase the participation of women and gender minorities to scikit-learn and other open source projects. The event has a limited number of places and we trust you not to register if you do not identify as belonging to this category, or as a supporting ally.

We will provide a certificate of participation. For PhD students, this should be usable towards validating your mandatory hours of coursework.

When: Saturday, March 12 from 10 am to 6 pm

Where: CybelAngel (45 Rue de Monceau, 75008 Paris, France). 3rd floor. 100% onsite event.

Food and refreshments will be provided.

Requirements:

  • Familiarity with Python
  • Basic experience with the Python machine learning library scikit-learn
  • Willingness to spend some time (about 2 hours) on preparation work ahead of the sprint
