HAPPY NEW YEAR API-ers! We wish you all the best for 2018. May it be full of success, health and happiness for you, your family and friends.
After having to unfortunately cancel our December meetup, we're back on track and ready to make 2018 another great year for the Paris API Meetup.
We'll have very cool announcements to make. #teasing
For this 2018 first meetup, Algolia will host us in their brand new Paris offices (lucky you if you've already been there!).
Paul Louis Nech, software engineer at Algolia will present the Musicologist (https://github.com/PLNech/musicologist), a research project he built leveraging Search and Conversational to make music recommandation through an hybrid voice/UI interface. He'll present how he composed several APIs to reach his goal.
Léo Unbekandt, co-founder and CTO at Scalingo (https://twitter.com/soulou?lang=fr), will help us finding our way in Modern API Authentication strategies: Authentication is something hard but mandatory. It's the process by which an application confirms user identity, and your API security is depending on it. What are today, the available choices for you? This talk approaches modern methods to ensure scalable, stateless, distributed authentication. Forget simple HTTP basic-auth authentication process and embrace OAuth, JWT, and advanced tokens management.
See you next Tuesday!
