Pasadena 3D Printing - Case Studies Presentations!

Details
NOTE: This is on a THURSDAY. NEW: we will be having talks at this meetup, in addition to our usual informal discussions.
Schedule:
7:00-7:30 Networking and geeking out over 3D prints and printers
7:30- 8:30 Learn a bit about the history of 3D printing! Tonight we celebrate three local innovators in 3D printing. Each will give a short case study presentation about printers they have been involved with, and the design tradeoffs for each one.
• A brief history of open source 3D printers, by Rich "Whosawhatsis" Cameron. Rich is your co-host, and designed the RepRap Wallace and the Bukito 3D printers. Hear about the early (and later) days of open-source 3D printing from the inside.
• Making the MAKEiT 3D Printer, by Russell Singer, Director of Design & Development, MAKEiT 3D.
• Designing the NewMatter ModT, by Norvan Gorgi, embedded systems engineer, NewMatter.
8:30-9:00 Discussion and networking
As always you are encouraged to bring a cool print or a machine you're working on, or feel free to come even if you're just wanting to know what the technology looks like and what it can do. Thanks as always to our host, the fabulous Supplyframe DesignLab!
