FOOD AND EVENTS

I have just recently added food and events to this group thought it would be a great addition to have meals together and attend special events, it's not all about holidays. For dinning and some events there will be a small contribution fee to the host, or how else will i be able to afford to host with you lovely lot, especially if am out every week as a host. Thanks to all who understand this, really appreciate it, i spend lots of time posting, researching and creating lovely eatery venues for you all, also running this meetup site is costly.

All meals will be paid up before we dine, as this weeds out the time wasters, who often RSVP, however have no intentions of attending. Looking forward to meeting you all xx

Day Trip to Bath With a visit to The Cotswolds Village of Lacock

Tothill Street

£45.00

Fantastic news as from the 19th of June we can travel on the coach with no more restrictions, i really missed hosting the coach trips and missed socializing with you guys

Join me on one of our popular trips to Bath, which i organise at least twice a year, we will also be visiting a village called Lacock in the Cotswolds.

Lacock is a beautiful and captivating Wiltshire village that almost seems frozen in time. This large village is under the ownership of the National Trust which rents properties to locals. Its historic streets and buildings, many of which date back to medieval times, have been perfectly preserved and are a wonder to behold.

In 2019 we visited this beautiful village and a few of us took some photos outside Lily & James Potter's House, Godric's Hollow (Private House) from Harry Potter the movie.

Though the house at Godric's Hollow appears in later movies, the Church Street Cottage in Lacock was only used in the first movie. In later films, the cottage was part of a movie set, created and built specifically for filming the Harry Potter Series. Let's hope i can remember where it was located.

We then visit Bath, where the entire city has been designated as a Unesco World Heritage Site. Bath contains England's most complete and finest Georgian architecture, grandest streets and most elegant crescents. The city has been attracting tourists for nearly 2,000 years. The Christmas Market is famous throughout Europe and is often considered the best in the UK.

Bath owes its name to the famed hot springs - the only ones in the country. Consequently, the city was established by the Romans as a spa resort in the First Century AD . Here you'll still find one of the world's best-preserved Roman bathhouses. The beautiful River Avon also runs through the city centre where you can take in some breathtaking views.

A wealth of Independent shops, boutiques, bistros and cafes line the streets between the historic architecture. For those who love the arts, the city is home to an extensive range of art galleries and museums - including the East Asian Art Museum, Holburne Museum of Art, the Fashion Museum, the Jane Austen Centre, the Herschel Museum and the Roman Baths Museum.to

Depending on interests i am looking to organise a private walking tour for our group for a Bridgerton Tour of Bath, which is where the series was filmed, i loved this series it was so entertaining. Will keep you posted on availability.

Discover how modern day Bath was transformed into 1813 London
Visit one of Bath’s most famous and photographed spots
Enjoy trivia and anecdotes about the making of Bridgerton
Walk in the footsteps of Simon and Daphne with other fans of the show. A 1 ½-hour tour will promenade through Bath’s beautiful and historic streets. It will take in many of Bridgerton’s filming locations. For the duration of the tour, you will be able to enjoy the music and sounds of Bridgerton with the use of their headphones.

Price £45

B/H 4 Days in Wales, With Day Trip to Snowdonia - Optional Trip to Liverpool

With lockdown easing come join me in Wales for a lovely weekend away from London, let's take time to breath some fresh air by the sea.

Wales is a country in southwest Great Britain known for its rugged coastline, mountainous national parks, distinctive Welsh language and Celtic culture. Cardiff, the capital, is a refined coastal city with a nightlife scene and a medieval castle with ornate Gothic Revival interiors. In the northwest, Snowdonia National Park has lakes, glacial landforms, hiking trails and a railway up to the peak of Snowdon.

We will be staying in Llandudno a coastal town north of Wales, known for North Shore Beach and 19th-century Llandudno Pier. Northwest of town, the cliffs of Great Orme headland jut into the sea. Ancient tunnels lead to a cavern at Great Orme Mines. A 1902 tramway has an upper and lower section, and travels to the headland’s summit. To the east, smaller headland Little Orme is a nature reserve. A seaside resort of Conwy county borough, historic county of Denbighshire, north-western Wales. It fronts Llandudno Bay, on the Irish Sea between the limestone headlands of Great Orme (northwest) and Little Orme (east).

PLACES TO VISIT NEARBY

Happy Valley is the oldest of Conwy's parks. It was first created in the late 19th Century and was listed as a historic garden of excellence during the 1930's due to its notable Alpine plant collection. The park is extensive and contains many different areas, including: terraced gardens, woodland walks, formal lawns and a quarried cave known locally as Elephants Cave. In 2009 Happy Valley was awarded a Green Flag, a park worthy of a status of national excellence.
