Passive House 301: Measured Energy Performance

Details

Please note registration closes Tuesday the 19th at 12:30 PM. Please register in advance and remember to invite others to join us. Excited to have our friends at PHIUS back to present. This annual occurence has been overlayed with our 301 series to keep the learning going to the next level. Lisa White will roll out new insights and keep you informed withthe tools you need. For the second time this year James will speak a few notches beyond the 101 content he delivered back in January. Bring your water bottle and associates.

Description
PHIUS+ Certification is a performance based standard and compliance is verified through energy modeling and on-site quality insurance inspections. Building performance monitoring is important to ensure that a project has met the energy & carbon reduction goals anticipated through PHIUS+ Certification. PHIUS has collected monitored data from buildings across the country, ranging from single family to 101-unit multifamily buildings. This presentation will discuss where to start with building monitoring, pitfalls to avoid, and the results of the collected data compared to the performance predicted by energy modeling software.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Explore various options for monitoring building performance.
  2. Compare how monitored data compares to modeled expectations.
  3. Realize the value of building performance monitoring.
  4. Identify best practice methods of implementing monitoring systems through design and construction.
