Whether you're curious about the open source world or hacked on the kernel back in the 90s, we'd love to see you - everyone has something to contribute to this experience. At each meetup we'll explore an open source project, find out how to get started and how to become a collaborator.
For the very first meeting of PatchMakers, we'll get an introduction to open source, create a CFP for Open Source Projects to speak at upcoming meetups, and get to know one another.
1900 Pizza and Networking
1930 Open Source + CFP Discussion
This event will establish a few guidelines for open source projects who are interested in presenting at this meet up - recorded / documented it so that the information is captured for future reference.
Tonight we will literally start a repository on GitHub with an open source license and create the CFP and introductory documentation for PatchMakers - attendees will be invited to create patches / pull requests immediately.
So bring your laptop.
If you're keen to get started, opensource.com has a great introduction to open source software and the open source way .
