This time of year is HOT, Sticky, and Rainy. So, we have to be selective on our rides in order to be able to endure the weather until October comes back around. The Wreaths Run gives us the opportunity to fulfill our Patriotic Rider duties as well as the ability to see each other and survive the Florida Summers.
This is a short Poker Run, which offers lots of “inside time” (AC). Walmart only provides about half of the Wreaths during the December Ceremony; the other half comes from money raised from people like us. The ride is sponsored by the Vietnam/Legacy Vets MC, one of the few charity rides they actually do. Going to this ride is a no-brainer, it is local (in case storms roll in, we can get back home easier). It is a cheaper ride, only $15 per bike, with that fee you get a raffle ticket and lunch. The end of the ride is typical live Music, Raffles, Auctions, and 50/50, so we will not be bored once it is over.
Lets meet at 301 Family Restaurant at 8:00am, we will have our KSU to Lakeland at 8:30am. The route we will ride there is Hwy 301 N to MLK and follow MLK to Plant City. Then we will switch over to Hwy 92 and follow that to the starting/registration point. The ride for us should be over by 2:00pm, so if it looks like rain coming in, we can “beat feet” out of there and stay dry. I have a Wreaths Across America Patch for all riders that come long and join me on this ride, so if you want one, saddle up and ride along.
