What we're about

Peace – Ethics – Dialogue
“Violence is the fear of others’ ideals.”
-Mahatma Gandhi-

Can we as average citizens contribute to peace? Half of humanity has this vague sense of "No impact". In this group I’d like to discuss political peace, but also peace as positive cohabitation between cultures and even in workplace, school and family.

Peace is not only the mere absence of violence; it has a “positive” meaning, too. However, what is it? Ethics, values, inner peace … or what could it be?

There would be discussed questions like:
• Peace in the world – the bigger picture.
• How to contribute to peace in our daily environments?
• How to enhance media competence in order to work out an “objective” viewpoint on the facts?
• Which values could possibly connect different cultures and religions?
• Peace and education.

For background on the Middle East, especially the Syrian conflict, visit this reveiling article of Robert Kennedy Jr, the son of Robert Kennedy who was assassinated in 1968 (John F. Kennedy's brother) link (https://www.ecowatch.com/syria-another-pipeline-war-1882180532.html).

What do you think is important to promote peace? What can the individual do and what society? Anyone interested in any of the above mentioned topics or who likes to point out some interesting details is invited to join some informal meetings.
