What we're about
This group is for folks, like me, who (1) love the beautiful nature all around us and (2) who find it fascinating to discuss all aspects of investment and personal finance. Why not discuss the benefits of portfolio diversification in a beautiful setting?!
The ideal member has a great appreciation of nature and the outdoors, and also a fascination with how money, investments, and personal finance work. And extra credit goes to those who can make links between these two seemingly disparate topics! Although this is not a "power hikers" group, a minimum level of fitness is required to complete the distance on each hike. However, a minimum level of financial knowledge is not necessary! Come learn from your peers, enhance your financial knowledge, and enjoy the great outdoors. About halfway through each hike, we'll stop to have a facilitated discussion about the day's topic. At the end, you'll not only have new financial skills and the benefits of hiking, but also new friends and a new community. Our hikes will vary in distance, scenery, and length of time. For each event, I'll give an estimate of distance and time. Choose the ones that are best fit for you.
For some of our hikes, we'll have the benefit of a special guest who is an expert in a particular subject matter (usually financial, but perhaps also walking or fitness).
A cautionary note: on our hikes, you may hear discussion of a variety of financial opportunities, products, and/or investments. Before making any investment, I encourage you to do your own full and complete research and due diligence. I encourage you to consult with a trusted financial advisor and/or a licensed financial professional before making any investment.
A note about integrity, showing up, and RSVPs: As a financial advisor, my integrity is critical. Without that, I have nothing. And for me, integrity is manifested in the small things as well as the big. I hope that the hikes and topics offered here are of interest to you. If you choose to RSVP to an event, please show up for the event. If your plans change, no problem - just update your response online, email me, or call me (preferably a day or more in advance).
