SQL on NoSQL - Towards a Smoother Transition
Details
Overview:
Thinking about modernizing your data infrastructure but worried about the transition process will turn out to be a disaster? Compared to traditional relation database systems, NoSQL databases provides easier scaling with shared-nothing architecture and faster time to delivery with more flexible data modeling. A transition from relational to NoSQL could be smooth if it happens incrementally and continue to leverage existing investment in business intelligence tools and middleware technologies.
In this talk we aim to provide an overview of issues you need to consider when switching from SQL to NoSQL and what the NoSQL players (MarkLogic, Couchbase, Mongodb) are providing to make this a better process. In particular, we will cover SQL interface support on NoSQL data stores.
Agenda:
6.30 - 7.00: Doors open, socializing (food, beverages, thanks to MarkLogic!)
7.00 - 8.00: Talk
8.00 - 8.30: Q&A
