Overview/Abstract:

Location has always been an important type of data to track, manage, and use. With the proliferation of location-aware devices like cell phones, cameras, and GPS systems, geospatial data has become even more ubiquitous than ever before. NoSQL databases offer a number of features that make them a good solution for managing and extracting value from your location data. In this talk, we'll introduce the landscape of geospatial data, discuss some of the unique technical difficulties in working with this data, and take a deep dive into the inner workings of some NoSQL geospatial indexes.
