This is your chance to give back to the trail and experience trail building with an experienced crew. Join the crew for a day or all week as they construct new trail near the WI-MN border, about 15 miles south of Superior. Commute one or more days or experience camp life by camping one or more nights. The crew camps in beautiful locations (not in campgrounds) and provides the base camp setup, including hot shower, privy, kitchen, etc. While camping, experience good conversation and comaraderie, campfires, dark skies and star gazing, and an opportunity to take a short evening hike on a nearby portion of the trail. Food is provided.
What to bring: All personal sleeping arrangements, clothing for work and camp (all expected weather), work boots and gloves, bug dope, day pack with minimum 2 L water capacity, etc.
Camp: Nemadji Bluff Campsite, just north of the Nemadji River on CR-W. Map can be provided. Contact Bill ([masked]) for map or a suggested gear check list.

Our main focus will be winter trail cleanup and maintenance.
Where To Stay: We have free camping available Friday and Saturday in Copper Falls State Park at Overflow Site 2 (Hwy 169, just north of Mellen). Remember you will need a sticker pass on your vehicle if camping with us overnight.
If you don’t feel like camping, you can check out the Cozy Valley Lodge, a vacation rental home on the Thewis Family Farm (hosts of a section of the NCT). It is the perfect place for a trail crew or hikers to hang out. And you are only a few hundred yards from the Trailhead on Hwy 169. See Cozy Valley Lodge on Facebook or call Kendra Thewis at[masked] for availability and reservations.
Where And When To Meet: Please meet at the entrance station at Copper Falls State Park on Hwy 169 just east of Mellen at 8am on Saturday and Sunday mornings for tools, directions and carpooling.
What To Bring: Please bring your own water (2 liters), trail lunch, snacks and bug repellent
Meals: The chapter provides dinner after work on Saturday.
Thank you volunteers for all you do to support the North Country National Scenic Trail. Without volunteers there would not be a trail.
