Technology continues to drive innovation, transforming all aspects of the ways we work.

With the rise of automation and AI replacing ‘human’ jobs at an increasing pace, evolving technologies enabling business to pull together virtual teams and fish from a global talent pool and the rising prevalence of the ‘gig economy’ – what could the world of ‘work’ look like in 2030?

In part inspired by the UK Commission for Employment Skills’ “The Future of Work – Jobs and Skills in 2030”, partly based on insight garnered from their recent trip to SxSW ’17 and in part based on their daily experiences of being engrained in an industry moving at break-neck pace, ADLIB’s session will facilitate open discussion around emerging trends impacting the future of work.

Whether you’re an HR or People Specialist looking to discuss implications of the changing nature of the workplace, a business owner looking to talk through how these changes will impact how you grow your team, an internal comms / employer branding specialist or purely curious to explore the shifting nature of how you work – there should be something in here for everyone.

Session Overview

The first topic of focus will be putting a spotlight on future ‘skills’, think topics such as –

What jobs may look like in an increasingly automated world.The increasing demand on the commercial sector to design an education system able to keep up with this evolving world.What individuals and companies can be putting in place to evolve with these advances?

Secondly we turn to what our future working ‘environment’ looks like –

How long before the whole concept of location and time-based work is redundant?What challenges and opportunities does this represent?What implications does the rise of the ‘gig economy’ present?

Finally, we’ll talk through what implications all of this will have on the future diversity of our workforce –What will it look like to have four generations under one roof in the workplace?What impacts will global virtual teams have on company culture?What dangers would a lack of diversity pose?

Just as the name implies, the format of the event is a forum and will be structured to allow for an open conversation around each topic. Please come prepared with thoughts, opinions, questions and an apetite to engage, learn and share knowledge.
