What we're about

This is a group for anyone who works with, uses, or wants to learn more about Microsoft Azure.

From Architects to developers to IT Pros to users and consumers, we will support anyone.

We have been meeting once a month at the Microsoft Technology Center in Malvern, PA.  Our normal meetup day is the first Monday of the month.  This Meetup site is the best place for information on future meetups.

Every meetup is recorded and posted to our YouTube channel  (http://bit.ly/phlazureonyt).  If you value our recordings, please like and subscribe.  We DO look at the analytics to make decisions and adding subscribers unlocks YouTube features for the channel.

You can follow us on Twitter (https://twitter.com/PhillyAzure) to keep up with short announcements.

Infonomics: Take Your Company's Analytics to the Next Level
Dave Wenzel - Microsoft

Everyone wants to be a data scientist. But if you really want to be on the cutting edge of analytics you need to understand something more than just Predictive Analytics...you need to understand Prescriptive and Behavioral Analytics. Today's most forward-thinking businesses and leaders are creatively finding unique ways to generate economic benefits from their data ecosystem. Infonomics helps executives make predictions about the behaviors of markets and their customers. This is data monetization, and it's not what you think it is. In this session I'll show you how to generate transformative business benefits by thinking differently about data. We'll show you how to leverage Design Thinking and Lean Management techniques to change the analytics culture at your company. We'll cover a bunch of real world use cases with real world datasets and code that you can implement and experiment with yourself, with your organization's data.

This will be mostly a hands-on session with a github repo with the code and access to 3rd party datasets to try things out yourself. We'll use Azure tooling like Synapse SQL, Spark, and python...but you can use just about any technology once you understand the process.
