This year's New Year's trip will be December 30th to January 3rd at Hunter Mtn in NY. The house is a 3 minute drive to the base and has an amazing view of the mountain. It is listed as sleeping up to 10 people but we'll cap it at 8. If there is more interest we can find a larger house or a 2nd one. Hunter is 3-1/2 hours from Philly so you can easily drive up after work on Wednesday or Thursday morning and still get in a half day. Lodging is $295 per person. Send payment w/ Venmo to @Eric-Croston or w/ PayPal to [masked] (make sure to select friends and family or you'll be responsible for the fees). You will be on the waitlist until payment is received. Cancelations - The house can be canceled until November 30th for a full refund for COVID or other reasons. Individual cancelations will not receive a refund unless there is someone to fill your spot. Lift tickets go on sale from Hunter December 8th. If you already bought an epic pass then you're set. Epic pass has a reservation policy during COVID, which I'm sure you've heard of so I'm not going into detail here.

The beautiful blue lake is the world’s largest alpine lake and borders California’s Sierra Mountains on one side, and Nevada’s vast deserts on the other side. There are 3 ski resorts in the Lake Tahoe area that we will be visiting (all on Epic Pass). Heavenly, Kirkwood, and North Star. There is terrain at each of the resorts for skiers/boarders of all levels. Dates The group will be travelling to Reno or Sacramento on Saturday January 30th 2021 returning February 7th, 2021 (Super Bowl Sunday), which is 8 nights. For those who wish to return on a different date, send a Facebook Messenger message to John Harper (jph183) or email [masked] to discuss possibilities. Condos must be filled in groups of 4 people. Lodging - $600 for 8 nights We will be staying in condos located in the Forest Suites Resort ( https://www.forestsuites.com/ ). Each condo is a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom unit. In the master bedroom is a King bed, and in the second bedroom are two full beds or a queen and a twin. There is also a pull-out sofa bed in each of the living rooms. Full kitchen in each unit. Forest Suites is located directly under the Heavenly Village Gondola so a few hundred steps to the gondola entrance. The town of South Lake Tahoe has many restaurants, bars and stores. Forest Suites has two hot tubs open year round! Daily "American Style" breakfast is included. An apres wine and chese reception on Sunday, as well as a pizza dinner on another night with salad and desert are also included in this price. And any residual money will be distributed to attendees after the trip. Flights You will be responsible for booking your own flight. When you book your flight, try to be on the same flights as others in the group. This makes carpooling easier. A Google sheet will be set up for coordination purposes. Reno is about an hour from South Lake Tahoe, and Sacramento is about two hours. Flights currently are around $350 round trip. Suggest checking Google Flights and coordinating with others. ** Note flight cancellation policies - Please see airlines updated policies on their websites as it is your risk to book flights, in case the trip gets cancelled due to Covid** Ground Transportation Shuttle information is available on the shuttles tab of the Google sheet. Most likely everyone will be splitting rental cars to get to the other resorts, and to and from the airports. If you choose to rent a car, parking at the resort is included. Lift Tickets/Epic Pass Many people will ski 3 days in a row, take Wednesday off, and then ski another 3 days in a row, although some may spend more or less days on the slopes. Most people on this trip will most likely have Vail’s Epic Local Pass which will fully include all of the days on this trip with no blackouts, but the reservation system and days you reserve is at your own risk. If going on this trip, and any other trip to a Vail owned resort, I highly suggest looking into the Epic Local or Epic Full passes. Freeriders have a group deal to buy it with getting some money back, see Facebook event, or contact John Harper or Matt Patel for details on Epic Pass deal. Things to do during an “off” day: - Tahoe village and shops - Spa day - Casino shenanigans - Snowmobile tours - Wine tours in neighboring counties - Sightseeing cruise on the lake - Virginia city
