Taking my son (8 years old) and his friend to play hookie and hit the slopes , his friend is a first timer so we will be on the bunny with the carpet most of the day .... if any freeriders want to meet up with their learning littles we would love to make it a party 🤘
MLK Weekend @ Stowe, VT Stowe is one of the best resorts on the East Coast. It is a 7 hour drive from Philadelphia, a bit farther than the southern Vermont reports but it's worth the 2 extra hours. The resort is great for beginners through experts. This trip will be Sat Jan 19th-Tue the 22nd. Driving up Saturday because the epic local pass is blacked out then. Saturday will be very crowded anyway because of the long weekend. Sunday and Monday won't be as bad. I also plan to ski Tuesday morning before driving home. Lodging: $150 for Lodging. Staying here: https://www.homeaway.com/vacation-rental/p200905?uni_id=491275 There is room for 10 people in 5 bedrooms. Full payment is necessary to reserve. This house is only 1.5 miles to the resort. We will be driving to the resort each day. The house is also close to the free Stowe shuttle if you don't want to drive. Send Lodging Payment To: Venmo: @Matthew-Patel-Schneider or Paypal: [masked]. Use the friends and family payment to avoid fees. If you don't select friends and family payment, you will be responsible for the fees. Lift Tickets: Buy your own lift tickets or get the Epic Pass. If you are planning on doing multiple ski trips this year check out our Epic Pass incentives here: https://www.meetup.com/Philly-Freeriders/events/249815012/ Transportation: Everyone is ultimately responsible for their own transportation. I can help all trip participants try to find other members to carpool with. Most trips no-one has to drive up by themselves. Dinners: We'll try to organize group dinners for 1 or 2 nights. Someone can cook, we could get take out, or just go to a restaurant. Football: NFL conference championships will be on Sunday the 20th. The house does have a TV to watch them.
NOTE: This house is now full to capacity at 17. (1/14/19) Upon RSVP, you will be placed on the waitlist and marked as going AFTER payment is received. Spending a weekend at a location between Okemo and Killington from Friday, January 25th to Sunday, January 27th. The location is about a 10 minute drive from both mountains. Epic Pass and Ikon Pass unite! Payment and lodging details for the trip are here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1H_JHCPQwQzlTFVLNNiih6sbKCrGzwq_kUegzWG_yf0A/edit?usp=sharing
Hey Freeriders - You're invited to the January Happy Hour at Fox & Hound Philadelphia. When you arrive, enter and turn left towards the bathrooms. We will have a few reserved tables and our own waitress to take drink & food orders. Our event coordinator is Angel and the tables will be reserved starting at 5:30pm if you happen to arrive early. Drink specials are available all day and night and include: $3 pint drafts of PBR, $4 Fireball Shots, $6 of 32oz draft of Coor's Light or Miller Lite and $7 pepperoni pizzas. Mingle with new members and our veterans - our members are beginners and experts and everything in between! The Philly Freeriders is very much a family and no matter your skill level, age, etc., we want you to join us. If you haven't signed up for a trip, we still have openings for some! If you haven't joined our Facebook chat (Warning: make sure to mute the chat since there's 180+ of us. Link at the bottom), that is where we discuss all of our impromptu and 'unofficial' trips. If you want to find others for a last minute day trip or weekend trip this is where that happens. (We've even had some people planning 4 day trips out west to CO, when someone snags an awesome cheap flight.) If you're brand new to skiing or boarding, we recommend getting on one of the Vermont trips and taking lessons. You can rent locally for the entire season (e.g. Buckman's) or at the hill. If you're new to our group, find Juli or Sara or Dave and we will be happy to introduce you to others! We will be selling membership cards for $1 each which you can use to get discounts at local ski shops for 10-15% off gear & tune ups as well as discounted lift ticket rates for the ENTIRE season at Jack Frost Big Boulder and Montage Mountain, which we have partnered with this year. PARKING: For discount city parking, use this link for $7 off your first SpotHero parking reservation. SpotHero is an app that allows garages and lots to sell off their extra spots for a discounted rate so they don’t lose money and can fill their garages. Prices get very good after 5pm. https://refer.spothero.com/s/cfzs5 Details for this years trips can be found on the Meetup page and there are still more to come, but of course we will chatting them up during the evening! If you have questions about the event: feel free to message Sara Gladney or Juli Peters.
