Robot Doodle Party!
Buzz Cafe, 129 W Montgomery Ave, Philadelphia, PA, USThis month the Philadelphia Doodle Party has a theme!!!
ROBOTS!!!
Cool Robots, Cute Robots, Very Helpful Robots and more!Casual doodling and socializing....with a Halloween twist!
A relaxing, social hangout where we doodle and talk! Meet new people and doodle!
No experience or artistic criteria, just having fun doodling with pen and paper in a cool environment.Buzz Cafe has great food and drink, too!
HOW IT WORKS:
You are encouraged to bring supplies (pens and paper), but we'll have some on-hand if you need them. This is NOT a sketching club, so no pencils or erasers! This is all about quickly doodling with pen!
The event will be mostly free-form, though some doodling games or exercises might be included based on the group's mood!
PLEASE try to RSVP as space can be limited!

Sci-Fi Obscura Video Club: PHOTON (2017)
Higher Grounds, 631 N 3rd St, Philadelphia, PA, USThis month, we discuss:
PHOTON (2017)
A very unique science/science fiction documentary from artist Normal Leto. This film covers a lot of territory: best to commit with maximum concentration IMO! It's a wild ride!Finding a fully subtitled version is tricky (there are partially subtitled ones) but here are two versions I found:
1. Here is a version that uses English language narration and Polish subs at the same time, and English subs for the few scenes where it is needed. Best option I've found if you want the full experience. No need to turn on closed captions.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-FJVCrldAfM2. Here is a version that is (mostly) subtitled in English IF you turn on captions Polish => English
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q4TY1J8WsOMAs always, please watch the entire movie sometime before the event so you can talk about it! (easy to find it online, though it sometimes may be a rental)
ABOUT THE CLUB:
We're based in the Philadelphia area and function exactly like a book club, but only for Sci-Fi Movies and TV series!
Each month we meet and discuss a specific movie or TV show!
Discussions are partially led, but also very freeform!
Our emphasis is on not-too-mainstream science fiction films. In other words, no big Hollywood blockbusters that EVERYONE has seen.
Older films, foreign films, films that may be off the beaten path.PAST FILMS WE'VE DISCUSSED:
