Dror Walter will present his work on the impact of thematic diversity in Senate candidates' news coverage and social media activity and the candidates' electoral success.
The talk will address two types of unsupervised machine learning methods, topic modeling and semantic network analysis, the logic behind them, and the ways by which these methods can be used to explore features of political discourse structure such as thematic diversity.
